Earlier this week I noticed that the crocus in my garden had reappeared….its quite magical…an overnight happening, usually after a burst of rain. They have been coming up every year with no help from me and Im always amazed when they do. And of course delighted !
Open qnd smiling in the sunshine…..
Shut them…..early morning…
One last bloom ….
This morning I walked outside to my garden….the sun was out the sky was blue the grass was wet and this was flowering….
My first purple crocus….with a dash of rain in the centre.
an island sunset ….
a beautiful place to rest our heads….
Another adventure in paradise ….. this time with a friend. We arrived by fastboat from Padangbai Bali…the trip was smooth and untroubled. Arriving on Gili we were greeted with many changes everywhere more hotels, swimming pools, places to eat, coffee barugas. Astaga…. I hope there is some thought for the environment in all of this development.
at a small tucked away homestay….a beautiful verdant garden and saltwater pool to float in.
A journey to the bottom of the sea breathing smoothly in and out….many small vibrant fish, a herd of humphead
ed parrot fish and some large and exotic turtles…..wish I had more photos to show….
it was a wonderful few days.
At this time of year it seems that cyclamens come into their own…..cold, almost frosty nights and crisp early mornings and warmish days are guaranteed to create works of art….
Early one crispy morning this week I spied these crocus (es) …in my garden
They seem to appear twice a year ….autumn and spring with out fail and no encouragement from me that im aware of. How is it that they can be soooo attuned to their environment while us humans……
Its definitely moving into autumn now…..dew on the ground and chill in the air, blue skies and a small breeze. I caught up my camera thinking I might see something….. there are always things to see! I have a beautiful purple eremophila which is flowering at present.
So I was slowly wandering past enjoying the flowers when this caught my eye…….
What coordinated colour and size!!! A bite size green spider… And a wonderful subject, not in the least perturbed by the presence of me and my camera peering down fiddling with buttons and dials.
I couldnt resist this beautiful green correa flower.
The seasons have changed…. and are being very changable down this way…cold, cold then warm, then Hot! And who knows what tomorrow may bring : )
I could cruise the weather sites, instead I’ll wake in the morn and see for myself….
Glorious fennel flowers going to seed……
A zuchinni flower in full flight…….
Burgundy gladiola…..to keep the vegetables company!
Dancing kangaroo paws in a friend’s front garden.
Native orchid spreading its roots reaching down….
Liies galore….snails delight……
Each morning I wake and wander outside full of wonder and appreciation for the bounty and beauty in my garden.
