My first blog for 2016 and I want to say to all who follow me how much I appreciate and enjoy your comments…Thank you!
May we all have a great year where ever and whatever we’re doing : ))
Below are a couple of the birds which regularly visit my birdbath….these pictures were taken through my bedroom window….

a wattlebird snacking…
wattle bird in the tree above the birdbath
it’s beady eye on dinner
This morning I went out to replenish the water in the birdbath and what did I see? A little grey fantail looking at me. To my surprise it seemed not at all discombobulated having me stand there clicking away….fortunately camera sound was off!
A blurrrrrr of wings….
And tail fanned out….how lucky was I : )
Tide is out, water is clear, wood is sculpture
The great egret captured in the rippled water, stalking its morning prey
Winter in south oz is charecterized by glorious sunny days with cloudscapes to fantasize about and temperatures that require beanies, gloves fingerless and scarves…these will be interspersed with grey, rainy and windy days…days better off spent inside by the fire reading a good book.
Taken through my front window latish on a cold and rainful day……
Taken on a bike ride not far from my house …a great egret taking off. Oh for a better lens ! It was somewhat shy of my attempts to photograph….
