Walk on the beach and what do you see….
Today the winds are from the land…northerly and warm….bringing memories of not so long ago warmth and colours golden brown….yesterday warm thick socks and jackets….winds from the south over the sea brrrrr ….first fire of the season……bulbs starting to sprout, already getting ready for spring. I love the unexpectedness….
A beautiful autumn day seen thru the window of a chapel in the hills
On retreat in the hills, autumn leaves are not something I see much of, and so they’re beautiful colours have captured my eye….yellows and apricots….
Deep reds and oranges flung about in the sunlight by the wind…..leaves dancing over the ground.
Early evening facing west looking out towards the coorong….
Some time during the night the skies opened and the rain fell…..everything is so thirsty here. Seasons are turning….bulbs are sprouting…. and snails are on the move.
Its now the holidays Sunday morning overcast and cloudy….so im not going to leap out of bed. Ive been inundated with daily prompts and ideas for getting blog started…and still I um and ah about what and how. This is a start. Down here in the southern hemisphere at the bottom of australia some of us are waiting for the rain. The ground is dry and hard and needs a bloody good soaking even the weeds are looking dessicated! Yesterday I dug through the hard dry soil and gave it some blood and bone and a small amou t of water so I could plant bulbs…daffodils jonquils gladdies and a few other odds and ends. They were already sprouting eager to be put back into the ground. And now we wait and watch
In the heart of ubud…peace and serenity, voluptuous , sensual and tactile….urban and rural meshed and just in balance.
On the west coast of lombok…lush, green and serene….apart from large snails that are voracious
The view from my verandah looking out toward the ocean along a path of sand.
This is on the murray river some ten kilometers upstream from the mouth of one of the largest river systems in oz…the beginning of the coorong national park. I live a 10minute bike ride from this beautiful place.
